LET US TELL YOU ABOUT
GET UNCOMFORTABLE
Get Uncomfortable is a non-profit organization with a focus on exploration and education.

accomplish the impossible
Get Uncomfortable is dedicated to teaching others how to do hard things. From pushup challenges, to outdoor survival, and polar expeditions. We document the real-time struggles of taking on extraordinary challenges.
expeditions for a cause
Get Uncomfortable founder, Jesse Osborn, is a former State Trooper turned sailor and expeditioner. Support for Get Uncomfortable will allow extraordinary adventures to be shared with ordinary people. Empowering and teaching along the way.
His journey has fostered a passion for mental health awareness, giving back to environmental research efforts, and showing others how to tackle fear.

get uncomfortable is going on
a polar expedition
the Unicef flyer
A pressurized submarine-like capsule sits below a 200+ foot helium and hot-air balloon. This one of a kind balloon was built for non-stop circumnavigation of the globe in the 1990s. It is capable of extended flight distances, handling altitude and extreme cold weather.
And it has never been flown.
the expedition
In October 2024, Jesse traveled to Scotland to purchase this balloon craft. The balloon and capsule are currently being prepared for shipment to New Mexico. Once received in New Mexico, the balloon envelope will be thoroughly inspected and repaired if necessary for flight.
the hindsight project
In this stark environment, above the Arctic Circle, the very best modern outdoor equipment on earth will be tested and compared over a full 12-month cycle to ancient methods of survival, from shelter building to harvesting traditional foods. Local mentors from Greenland will share their vast amount of soon-to-be-lost knowledge, stored within the elder communities.
This project will document the outcome of both modern and ancient camps in essence to gage our “progress” or lack thereof.
The Hindsight project will aim to raise funds in support of its own expenses as well as in support of Ocean Research Projects, a non-profit organization conducting sea mapping and other marine research in the polar regions.
